Technology makes everything easier and within reach. The increase in impossible deadlines and strenuous goal completions is needed to ensure company growth in this country. We all heard about the dangers of sitting too much in a day and situations like these bring about impossible work-life balance and keeps employees stuck to their desks shuffling paper works and meeting deadlines. Employees stuck to their desks are:

Travel agents.

Employees who help travelers locate the best accommodation at affordable prices accomplish their tasks by securing enticing deals from the internet. Communication with clients is also easily completed through phone conversations and e-mails. Consequently, the work of today’s travel agents is confined in the office spaces thereby permitting very little opportunities for physical activities.

Digital marketers.

Social networking, search engine optimization, creating content articles, posting video blogs and promoting through smart phones are job descriptions of digital advertisers. Complying with these tasks is done by these employees using various programs in their computers. This means that this workgroup also spend at least 8 hours a day sitting in their respective offices.

Legal professionals exercise much of their brain cells but not their muscular tissues. This is because of the fact that spending extended sessions in courtrooms and offices has prohibited these practitioners from engaging in meaningful workouts

Singapore physiotherapy professionals say that chronic back pain and muscle stiffness are one of the symptoms desk bound employees are likely to get. Because sitting in prolonged periods is a static posture causing an increase in pressure and stress to back muscles, shoulders and arms.

The internet is littered with articles and blogs about how to deal with sitting all day. They come up with simple stretches, exercises, change of work conditions and even the famed stand-up desk set up. But, it would take complete commitment in applying those advices and changes making these employees end up visiting a physiotherapist for back pains that are no longer tolerable.

An increase in chair bound employees is inevitable in the future. With how technology is changing the world, we could find less farmers or skilled manual workers and more of the desk bound ones. An event that can occur not just in Singapore but in all countries around the world. The best advice would be to take extra precaution and take the risks seriously while enjoying and growing the chosen career.
